Repairs to flood damaged roads, bridges and causeways

We've assessed over 600 pieces of infrastructure damaged in the February 2022 floods including:

• Roads
• Bridges
• Causeways
• Guardrails.

The cost of repair and reconstruction works is estimated to be more than $200 million.

We've bundled the 600 pieces of infrastructure needing repair into 41 separate funding applications that have been submitted to the State and Federal Governments.

Flood projects – applications submitted for approval

The following projects are awaiting disaster funding approval:

• Coopers Shoot and Picadilly Hill Roads.
• Huonbrook Road major landslip.
• Main Arm Causeways 5 and 7 (other Main Arm causeways have been approved).
• The Pocket Road pavement.
• Upper Wilsons Creek roads. 
• Wilsons Creek Road.

Flood works projects with approved funding

• Repair of a culvert on Coopers Lane.
• A culvert on Main Arm Road near Coolamon Creek.
• Palmwoods Road causeways 1, 2 and 3.
• Gravel re-sheeting of Mill Road, Wanganui Road, Waltons Road, Frasers Road and Charltons Road.
• Huonbrook Road repairs.
• Repair of Main Arm Road between Main Arm Upper Public School and Motts Road (Upper Main Arm).
• Main Arm/Upper Main Arm Causeways 1,2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13 (causeways 5 and 7 still to be approved).
• A culvert near 1436 Main Arm Road. 
• Wanganui Road causeways 1,2.
• Coopers Creek Road.
• Johnsons Road pavement, causeways (two) and culverts (two).
• Bridge and guardrail replacement program for Booyong, Donaghys, Jubilee Avenue, Keys, Palmwoods, Pioneer, Repentance Creek and O’Mearas bridges.
• Gravel re-sheeting on Kennedys Lane, Cedarvale Road, Durrumbul Road, Riverside Drive, The Saddle Road, Jones Road and Huonbrook Road.
• Repair of landslips at: Coolamon Scenic Drive (two locations), Main Arm Road (three locations),Johnsons Road (four locations), Huonbrook Road (five locations), Goonengerry Road (two locations), Possum Shoot Road, St Helena Road, Left Bank Road (three locations), Monet Drive, Main Arm Road (two approved, one to be approved), The Pocket Road (three locations), Wilsons Creek Road (three locations), Coopers Creek Road (two locations), Frasers Road, Tristran Parade, Dry Creek Road, and Wanganui Road.
• Left Bank Road culverts and causeways.
• Mullumbimby Road repair.
