Find out about regulations for short-term rental accommodation, also known as STRA or holiday letting.Changes to non-hosted STRA came into effect on 23 September 2024. For most of the Shire there will be a 60 day annual cap on STRA. For some areas in Byron Bay and Brunswick Heads, there will be no cap and they will be able to operate for 365 days of the year.
We have established three planning pathways to guide how we manage regularisation of unauthorised dwellings. The Guideline supports our Enforcement Policy 2020.
