Street Banners

Banners can be used to temporarily promote local cultural or community events for up to four weeks.

Follow the below steps to book a street banner. Please ensure you have approval before you organise for your banner to be printed. 

  1. Complete the Street Banner Booking Form(PDF, 629KB) 
  2. Return to Council along with your payment and banner design.
  3. Applications must be lodged at least 14 days before the banner is installed.

General Information

  • Application form, payment and banner design are to be lodged at least 14 days prior to the banner being installed. A copy of the banner design proof must be provided upon application for approval, prior to proceeding with printing arrangements.
  • Advertising on the banner is limited to the name and date of the event. Sponsor information, or promotion on the banner should be kept to a minimum.
  • Text on the banner should be simple and large so it can be easily read.
  • The banner must be properly constructed and capable of withstanding strong wind gusts. Please note attached standard specifications for street banners on application form.

 Special notes

  • Users of the Banner Facility Service are advised that every effort will be made to erect banners on the nominated days.  However, if Council staff and equipment are unavailable, or public holidays affect installation, no responsibility will be accepted if there is a delay in the erection of a street banner.
  • As numerous banner sites are available and will be in use, Council will endeavour to place the banner at the nominated site or alternatively at another available site.
  • While all care will be taken, Council accepts no responsibility for theft or damage of street banners.

Installation information

  • Street banners are to be delivered to Council’s Depot, 10 Bayshore Drive Byron Bay, between 7.00am and 4.00pm at least two working days prior to installation.
  • Street banners are to be collected from Council’s Bayshore Drive Depot within 24 hours of the completion of the event/agreed completion date.  Council will not store banners.
