The volume of single-use packaging and materials, such as takeaway containers, has risen rapidly.

Single use packaging, materials and decorations are created without considering what happens to them at the end of life or the resources needed to make them.

This includes bamboo and cardboard packaging which can contain polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) that causes harm to human health and our environment.

This is why we are moving towards eliminating these materials from our operations, events and facilities.

This is an initiative of the NSW Environment Protection Authority under the NSW Government’s Waste and Sustainable Materials Strategy and is funded from the waste levy.
