Future Place Planning
Place Plans are strategic documents that describe a vision for a neighbourhood, town or village for the next 20 years.
These Plans are usually developed between community members and Council staff, sometimes with the help of a consultant.

We have completed place plans for the following.
Future Place Plans
In 2022, we asked the community to nominate their town, village or suburb to be involved in a Place Planning process.
At the 8 December 2022 Council meeting, it was decided that the following locations would move forward with a Place Plan, in this order of priority:
- Ocean Shores
- South Golden Beach
- Brunswick Heads
In February 2024, Council resolved to expand the scope for the next Place Plan to include New Brighton and South Golden Beach in addition to Ocean Shores.
Timeline

Council expanded the Scope of the next Place Plan.
- August 2024
Community consultation for the Ocean Shores, New Brighton and South Golden Beach Place Plan is planned to commence.
