Future Place Planning
Place Plans are strategic documents that describe a vision for a neighbourhood, town or village for the next 20 years.
These Plans are usually developed between community members and Council staff, sometimes with the help of a consultant.

We have completed place plans for the following.
Nominations for future Place Plans
In 2022, we asked the community to nominate their town, village or suburb to be involved in a Place Planning process. Submissions closed on Friday 30 September 2022.
At the 8 December Council meeting, it was decided that the following locations would move forward with a Place Plan, in this order of priority:
- Ocean Shores
- South Golden Beach
- Brunswick Heads
We are currently developing a Council report providing a detailed Place Plan project scope, methodology and budget for the first priority location, Ocean Shores.
Due to budget constraints, a Place Plan for Ocean Shores, will be considered in the 2024 to 2025 financial year.
