Economic Activation Group

The Economic Activation Group (EAG) is made up of representatives from:

  • local businesses
  • industry associations
  • government agencies.

They will work together to provide ongoing input into the implementation of the Byron Shire Economic Strategy 2025–2035 and its Action Plans.

The Group will be established over two stages.

The first stage will involve stakeholder workshops to refine the three Action Plans. These updated plans will be reported to Council in mid 2026.

Councillors will be invited to join the Group in Stage Two.

Stage One

Purpose

To bring local stakeholders together to review and refine the three Action Plans ensuring they reflect local priorities and are ready for Council endorsement.

Objectives

  • Review and workshop the three Action Plans, focusing on areas where changes are needed.
  • Share sector knowledge and identify priorities that will support economic growth and activation.
  • Review the Terms of Reference for the EAG’s ongoing role in working together and delivering the Action Plans.
  • Support the process for Action Plans to be presented to Council for adoption by mid‑2026.
