The key themes from the feedback were:
- Recognition of the value of Council working with the community for mutual beneficial outcomes.
- Support for the Draft Community Engagement Strategy.
- Recognition and support for the IAP2 spectrum for community engagement.
- The importance of evaluation and improvement of community engagement generally, as for specific projects is important.
- Well-meaning and genuine engagement is essential to development trust and building relationships with the community.
The Draft Community Engagement Strategy was adopted by Council on 13 March 2025.

- How the community can participate
The Community Engagement Strategy is a part of Council’s Integrated Planning and Reporting framework, a suite of documents that guides the reporting and engagement activities of the organisation.
