We are developing a Business, Industry and Visitor Economy Strategy.

The strategy aims to provide a clear direction for a resilient, adaptable, and sustainable economy.

In response to a rapidly changing economy, we have brought all sectors into one strategy.

We're working with consultants from Lucid Economics and Tilma Group to develop the Strategy.

Research, workshops, interviews

From February 2023, we've been researching, workshopping and interviewing with:

  • local businesses from various industry sectors
  • Chambers of Commerce and industry and networking groups
  • Agency stakeholders
  • our Business and Industry Advisory Committee

We asked for their thoughts on:

  • background research findings
  • economic advantages, barriers, challenges, opportunities, and strengths
  • Council’s role in economic development

How can I have input?

We did quick check in with the community to make sure that we are on the right track.
