Residential Strategy

The Residential Strategy provides a vision and framework for how we deliver future housing in our towns and villages over the next 20 years.

We want residents to feel part of a community where there is a choice of homes to suit their current and future needs.

Byron Shire Residential Strategy 2041 was sent to the Department Planning, Housing & Infrastructure for their endorsement.

At 14 March 2024 meeting, Council resolved to approve the Residential Strategy 2041, with amendments.

Residential Strategy 2020 Refresh

The Residential Strategy refresh considered:

A report on the feedback received on the Housing Options Paper was considered at the 14 December 2023 Council meeting.

The ‘refreshed’ Residential Strategy was reported to Council’s 14 March 2024 Planning meeting for consideration and decision where it was adopted with amendments as Byron Shire Residential Strategy 2041.
