Coming soon – more improvements to Linda Vidler Park
Published on 29 May 2025
Community connections will be at the core of improvements at Linda Vidler Park over the next several months.
The improvements, valued at $400,000, include:
- Building pathways through the park to link Beech Drive, the community garden and Pepperbush Street.
- Improving the entry to the park from Beech Drive with landscaping, seating and signage.
- Building a shelter near the community gardens.
- Tree planting.
Jim Roberts, Council’s Open Spaces Coordinator, said this work was identified in the Linda Vidler Park Masterplan.
“In recent years we have done drainage improvements, bush regeneration and helped deliver new change rooms and a canteen for the Suffolk Park Football Club,” Mr Roberts said.
“The tennis courts have also been resurfaced and a pump track built and there’s the community garden too, so this wonderful park is really delivering something for everyone in the Suffolk Park community,” he said.
The NSW Government’s Local Small Commitments Allocation program has contributed $200,000 towards the delivery of Byron Shire Council’s $400,000 Linda Vidler Park upgrade.
Council has allocated $200,000 from its developer contributions fund.
Information about improvements at Linda Vidler Park is on Council’s website.
Work is expected to start in July and will take around four months.
