Liquid Trade Waste Policy
The objectives of this policy are to:
protect public health
protect the health and safety of Council employees
protect the environment from the discharge of waste that may have a detrimental effect
protect Council assets from damage
assist Council to meet its statutory obligations
provide an environmentally responsible liquid trade waste service to the non-residential sector
encourage waste minimisation and cleaner production in the commercial and industrial sectors
promote water conservation, water recycling and biosolids reuse
ensure compliance of liquid trade waste dischargers with Council’s approved conditions
provide operational data on the volume and composition of industrial and commercial effluent to assist in the operation of the sewerage system and the design of augmentations or new sewerage systems
