Time to have your say on community halls in the Byron Shire
Published on 28 April 2025
Byron Shire Council is planning for the future management of its halls and is inviting the community to complete a survey and have a say by 18 May.
“We’re seeking feedback on Council’s nine community halls from people who use the halls, hire them or just have some ideas or an opinion about them,” Council’s Director Community and Corporate Services, Esmeralda Davis said.
“We want to make improvements to bookings, accessibility and the quality of the facilities on offer in these halls and we’d value input and ideas from the community about their experiences of these halls and what they’d like to see happen,” she said.
“The community’s ideas and views will help us shape our plans for the future and will be included in information presented to Council mid-year,” Ms Davis said.
The survey is seeking feedback on the following nine community halls:
- Bangalow A&I Hall
- Bangalow Showgrounds – including Moller Pavilion and Scout Hall
- Brunswick Heads Memorial Hall
- Durrumbul Hall (Main Arm)
- Marvell Hall (Byron Bay)
- Mullumbimby Civic Memorial Hall
- Ocean Shores Community Centre
- South Golden Beach Hall
- Suffolk Park Community Hall
