The planning proposal has amended the Byron Local Environmental Plan 2014 to include business and industrial lands for part of 66 The Saddle Road, Brunswick Heads.

Key changes

  • Rezoned part of the Rural Landscape area to General Industrial and Productivity Support zones.
  • Other parts rezoned to C2 Environmental Conservation and C3 Environmental Management. Existing C2 and C3 zones remain unchanged.
  • An ‘additional permitted use’ for work/live development in the Productivity Support zone.
  • Planning Agreement requiring the applicant to upgrade the infrastructure.
  • This proposal aligns with our Business and Industrial Lands Strategy for Area 5: Gulgan North.

Draft Development Control Plan

A Draft Development Control Plan (DCP) for the site will address building design and general site requirements.

This exhibition includes parts of this DCP. We will exhibit the full DCP at a later date.

Planning Proposal

For more information about what documents were exhibited and adopted, please see the 5 Dec 2024 Planning Report.

For this planning proposal, Council was not authorised to act as the local plan-making authority as the planning proposal sought to apply a C zone to land to which the Northern Councils E Zone Review applies.
