We are increasing the capacity of the sewer that services properties in the area of Byron Bay from Cowper Street to Wategos and Paterson Street.
The first part of this project involves replacing the 50-year-old clay pipes along the northern boundary of the Byron Bay Rec Grounds.
Heavy machinery, including large dump trucks, will be working during the day and low-noise generators will be operating water pumps overnight.
Parts of the oval will not be able to be used during this time
We will re-turf the oval at the end of the job.
When we finish the work in the Rec Grounds, we will move to Massinger Street where we will be laying a new sewer pipe under the road.
We will also be building a shared path on Massinger Street to connect the Sandhills Wetlands to Lawson Street.
