About the work

UGL Regional Linx (UGLRL), on behalf of Transport for NSW, will be doing the works.

As a part of the upgrade, UGLRL will replace the current timber bridge with a steel arch bridge and widen the bridge to allow for two-lane traffic.

The proposed work is expected to take place from July 2025 to December 2025.

The proposed work involves:

  • demolition of the existing structure
  • construction of a multi-plate arch bridge beneath the current road alignment, involving approximately one metre of excavation
  • erection of a retaining wall next to the steel arch bridge
  • upgrading the bridge to current engineering and road standards
  • relocation of services as necessary.

Detour

While this important work takes place, a detour will be in place.

The proposed 5-minute detour is available via Old Bangalow Road, Bangalow Road, and Broken Head Road.
