Water main renewal works - Byron Bay

We will soon be starting important works to upgrade the water main pipes along sections of Fletcher Street and Bangalow Road, Byron Bay. 

These works will strengthen the water supply network's resilience in servicing many businesses in the town’s CBD.  

Fletcher Street water main works

From mid-April, we will be starting work on the repair and replacement of water main pipes under sections of Fletcher Street. See map below.

These works are expected to take around a month to complete, weather depending.

The works involve digging up sections of road to access, repair and install the water pipes. Traffic management will be in place to slow and divert traffic as our crews move along the street.

Some night works are planned for the Fletcher Street water main renewal works to minimise impacts on parking in the area on Fletcher Street between Bay Lane and Lawson Street.

Once the Fletcher Street works are completed, works will start on Bangalow Road.

Bangalow Road water main works

From mid-to-late May, we will be starting work on the repair and replacement of water main pipes under a 1 km section of Bangalow Road in Byron Bay. See map below.  

This is a longer program of works due to the length of water main needing renewal. It is expected these works will take around three months to complete, weather depending. Crews will be working in the road shoulder with traffic management in place to slow and divert traffic as needed.
