Mullumbimby recreation ground carpark upgrade

The upgrade of the carpark and amenities facilities at the Mullumbimby Recreation Grounds includes:

  • Renewing the surface of the existing carpark and formalising 111 parking spaces including two accessible spaces.
  • 100m of new footpath to connect to the amenities block and bus stop area.
  • Improved drainage and minor landscaping.
  • Safe drop-off area on Byron Street near the historical entrance gates so vehicles can drop-off, pick-up and turn around.
  • Signage and line marking.
  • Improved public toilets.
  • Renovation of the old "Little Athletics" building to include change rooms.

Some tree branches will be lopped to allow access for machinery.

These projects are funded by:

  • NSW Government’s Community Assets Grants Program.
  • NSW Government’s Sports Priority Needs Program. 

Since the floods Council has done a significant amount of work at the rec grounds including:

  • Upgrading the skate park access road
  • Renewing the six tennis courts
  • Resurfacing the netball courts
  • Renewing the cricket wicket and practice nets
  • Construction and fencing of two off leash dog areas.
