Our libraries

Byron Shire's libraries include:

  • Byron Bay
  • Mullumbimby
  • Brunswick Heads 
  • Mobile Library - services some of the Shire’s smaller communities, such as Federal, Ocean Shores, Suffolk Park, and Bangalow.

All three Library branches provide regular story time sessions for children and internet training sessions for seniors. 

Richmond Tweed Regional Library network 

Byron Shire is a member of the Richmond Tweed Regional Library (RTRL) service. The service offers a combined stock of over 400,000 items, free of charge to its members.

Library members have 24/7 access to the library catalogue. Members can also review and renew their loans and reserve resources online through the RTRL website or Library App.  Members without internet access can phone their local branch for assistance.

The Mobile Library is now offering a Click and Collect service at limited stops. Regular Mobile Library users who have not been able to access library services in another way are invited to reserve up to 20 items for collection at Nimbin on Thursdays, Pottsville on Fridays or Bangalow on Saturdays.

Library Members will not be able to board the truck due to COVID safe protocols and can only collect reservations or Staff Pick Packs.
