Byron Bay Wetlands

The Byron Bay Wetlands are at Wallum Place in Byron Bay, within the traditional country of the Bundjalung (Arakwal) people of Byron Bay.

The wetlands are a great place to watch more than 227 species of waterbirds and shorebirds.

The wetlands form part of the 100 ha Byron Bay Integrated Water Management Reserve. An award-winning example of how good resource management can minimise the impact of the sewage treatment plant on the surrounding ecosystems.

When visiting, bring sunscreen and a hat. A pair of binoculars and a good field guide of Australian birds will enhance your visit.
