The proposal to enable low impact events at the Cavanbah Centre without the need to apply for development consent, has been finalised.
Changes were included in Byron Local Environmental Plan 2014 from 4 August 2023.
The changes will fast-track approval of events such as markets and live music and reduce the cost and time for event organisers.
While organisers will still need to apply for approval for the event, the changes to the Byron Local Environment Plan (LEP) mean they will not have to submit a development application.

Your feedback was considered by Council at 8 June 2023 meeting.
Council's decision was to proceed with the finalisation of an amended proposal so that events must not include facilities for overnight accommodation or camping.
The amendments were finalised on 4 August 2023 with Byron Local Environmental Plan 2014, updated accordingly.
