Heritage brunswick heads

Brunswick Heads has a special character which is highly valued by residents and visitors alike. The Brunswick Heads Progress Association, Chamber of Commerce and Historical Society put forward a request for a Heritage Conservation Area to be established to protect this special character. A heritage report was prepared to identify the heritage significance and values of the village.

A Heritage Conservation Area provides a basis to manage change in a way that retains its identified values. It is not about ‘no’ development’, but about the type and scale of development that is appropriate to maintain those values into the future. A Heritage Conservation Area provides owners a level of certainty about the desired future character of a place, which is managed by formal planning policies.
