Apply for parking permits in Byron Shire

 Pay parking

Byron Shire residents and workers are invited to purchase an annual pay parking permit that exempts their vehicle from parking fees in Byron Shire's pay-parking area and council-operated car parks.

Please note that pay parking permits do not exempt vehicles from the signposted time limits and do not cover National Park Car Parks within the Byron Shire.

Types of Permits

$55 Resident/Ratepayer Permit -  Must provide a current copy of your car registration and proof of residency within Byron Shire. Pensioners receive a discount. For the Pensioner discount you must provide a copy of your Centrelink (blue) Pensioner card or DVA card.

$110 Worker Permit - Must provide a current copy of your car registration and proof of employment at a fixed address within the Pay Parking area.  

Business/Volunteer/Commercial and Trade Permits - Must provide a current copy of your car registration and proof of employment at a fixed address within the Pay Parking area. We also require a copy of a Driver's Licence for the worker driving the vehicle.

Applying for a Pay Parking Permit

You can apply and pay for a Pay Parking Permit online, or in person at council's administration building.  All documentation must be in the same name as the applicant. For more information on documentation required or eligibility please click here.
