Rural multiple occupancy and community title sites

At the November 2021 planning meeting Council resolved to prepare a planning proposal to amend Byron Local Environmental Plan LEP 2014.

The planning proposal will allow secondary dwellings and dual occupancies within rural Multiple Occupancy and Community Title developments, with development consent. .

Secondary dwellings and dual occupancies are currently permitted on land within the RU1 Primary Production and RU2 Rural Landscape zones, but not on Multiple Occupancy and Community Title sites.
