Development Control Plan (DCP) 2014 Chapter B2 Preservation of Trees and Other Vegetation was updated to include the information now required under the State Environmental Planning Policy (Vegetation in non-rural areas) 2017 (Veg SEPP).
The Veg SEPP manages vegetation removal in all non-rural areas (land in any zone other than RU1 and RU2) that does not involve or is ancillary to development, including E zones.
The purpose of the updated Draft DCP 2014 Chapter B2 (now titled Tree and Vegetation Management) is to 'declare' vegetation under the Veg SEPP. Where vegetation is declared, a person must not remove such vegetation without a 'tree removal permit' granted by Council.
Draft DCP Chapter B2 Tree and Vegetation Management also provides information on exemptions and increases clarity to land holders and our community regarding vegetation management.
