Joint Regional Panel Members to represent Byron Shire Council

Byron Shire Council is seeking expressions of interest for part-time appointments to represent Council on the Northern Joint Regional Planning Panel (JRPP).

The Northern JRPP acts as the consent authority for regionally significant development proposals and holds regular public meetings.

Guides which detail the Planning Panel's Operational Procedures and Code of Conduct can be accessed from the ‘Publications’ tab at www.planningpanels.nsw.gov.au.

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated expertise in at least one (1) of the following:
  •      Planning
  •      Architecture
  •      Heritage
  •      The environment
  •      Urban design
  •      Land economics
  •      Traffic and transport
  •      Law
  •      Engineering
  •      Tourism
  • Knowledge of local area issues and local planning issues
  • Ability to act independently and to represent community concerns

The appointments will run for a term of up to three (3) years.

 Council’s representatives on the Northern Region JRPP do so in a voluntary capacity - panel members will not be paid.
