Community Initiatives Program (Section 356)
The Community Initiatives Program aims to improve community wellbeing and quality of life for Byron Shire residents.
The program invites applications for initiatives that address a specific community need that build a sense of community and align with Council's goals.
Council provides community donations under Section 356 of the Local Government Act. These donations are guided by the Community Initiatives Program (Section 356) Policy and Guidelines.
The Policy and Guidelines were reviewed in 2017-2018 causing a delay in the program being offered for the current financial year. Therefore Council is now calling for applications for BOTH the 2017-18 financial year and the 2018-19 financial year.
Applications open: 9 April 2018
Applications close: 18 May 2018
Applicants notified by: 29 June 2018
To assist applicants in developing their application, a Funding Workshop will be held in Mullumbimby from 5 – 7pm on Wednesday 2 May 2018. It is strongly recommended that potential applicants attend this workshop. To RSVP for the workshop email email@example.com.
