Community Initiatives Program (Section 356)
The Community Initiatives Program aims to improve community wellbeing and quality of life for Byron Shire residents.
We are now inviting applications for initiatives that address a specific community need that build a sense of community and align with Council's goals.
Council provides community donations under Section 356 of the Local Government Act. These donations are guided by the Community Initiatives Program (Section 356) Policy and Guidelines.
Applications are open once every year - watch out for advertisements in Council Notices and on the website under Public Notices around April / May each year. View a list of previous projects(PDF, 77KB) funded under the Community Initiatives Program.
