From 30 October, the main playground equipment will be removed. This is expected to take 2 weeks. Some parts of the park will be closed during this time.
Apex Park is on Byron Bay's popular Main Beach. It has free BBQs, picnic tables, showers, toilets and swings for the kids.
There is disabled parking adjacent to the park.

The playground, which was installed in 2007, has developed significant faults and the equipment cannot be repaired for a reasonable cost.
The existing swings and spring toys will remain in place for now.
In early 2024, we will be kicking off a redesign process for the Byron foreshore. We will be asking the community for input on the size, style and location of a new playground.
