Byron Shire Council is committed to minimising the harms associated with gambling.

We acknowledge that state and federal governments can create the most effective policy frameworks to address this complex issue.

Local councils have a role to play in lobbying, education and advocacy.

Where to get help

There are many services that can help anyone experiencing harm from gambling, including gamblers, their family and friends, to change their lives for the better.

There are many experienced, free and confidential services ready to help you, including; counsellors, Warruwi Aboriginal support, help for women and practical support including financial counsellors and legal help specialists.
