Public transport, cycling and walking maps
Council has completed an all-in-one public transport, cycling and walking map and brochure for Brunswick Heads; the first in a series of town centre maps for Byron Shire. The map will be available from Council and Visitor Information Centres and placed on Council's website: http://www.byron.nsw.gov.au/transport-information. Local traders, bus and tourist operators interested in stocking the map can contact Council on 6626 7080. The map is developed by Council via funding under the NSW Transport Country Passenger Infrastructure Grant Scheme. Other towns yet to be mapped will be Byron Bay, Bangalow, Mullumbimy and Ocean Shores.
Household Transport survey
Council undertook an extensive household survey in August/September 2011, which was available with an online survey plus a direct mail out to those in Ocean Shores and Federal.
Council received the results of the survey in two stages. Firstly in December 2011 the report to Council detailed the distribution of the survey and provided a preliminary analysis of respondents’ demographics and household composition. The second report to Council (June 2012) detailed the results of the survey. Copies of both reports and the original survey are available on Council's website at http://www.byron.nsw.gov.au/transport-information
NSW Long Term Transport Master Plan
Council's submission to the State government's plan included details of Council's own household transport survey. Details of the survey are on the above link and details of the master plan released in December 2012 are available at http://engage.haveyoursay.nsw.gov.au/transportmasterplan
