Town Planning Advice
Duty Planner
Council provides a duty planner service between the hours of 9am and 11am daily to assist with enquiries relating to town planning matters. Appointments must be made:
- In person at the front counter
- By phone 02 6626 7025
- By email dutyplanner@byron.nsw.gov.au
Should customers wish a longer appointment in relation to a lodging an application with Council, a meeting can be arranged with Council’s Development Assessment and Certification Staff outside these hours.
Written planning advice
If you require more detailed planning information you can download and complete a Written Planning Advice Application Form. There is a fee of $140 associated with this service (further fees of $140/hour may be applicable).
Council will then provide with detailed and researched information in respect to issues such as dwelling entitlement, historic or current development application information, etc.
The request must be clear and to the point. Within 21 days of receiving your application, the requested information will be researched and a letter of reply mailed to your address.
Please note that Byron Shire Council cannot guarantee that the requested information is available and in the instance that your search is unsuccessful, the application fee is non refundable.
