Byron Shire Council wishes to advise that they will be undertaking Road Reconstruction Works commencing on Monday 10 October 2017 extending for a 6 week period to 21 November 2017, weather permitting. Work hours will be 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
The 600m work zone is on Broken Head Road from the turning/merge lanes at Broken Head Hall north to Bryon Bay. The zone will also include the intersection and approach on Midgen Flat Road.
Major construction works to be undertaken in two stages as per the staging diagram on opposite page.
- Removal of existing wearing surface, reshaping, compacting and sealing.
- The seal will require 1 week of curing prior to placement of Asphalt.
- Asphalt works - will require up to 2 weeks for placement, weather permitting.
Council is mindful of upcoming HSC exams and has programmed works to reduce impact students and parents during exam weeks.
The worksite will be under Traffic Control and motorists are reminded to obey all instructions. Additional advice regarding the project and wet weather delays will be available on Councils webpage. Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by these essential works and asks for your patience.
