The Tourism Management Plan (TMP) is Council’s 10-year strategy for managing tourism in Byron Shire. The TMP was adopted with the key objectives of promoting a sustainable approach to tourism management in Byron Shire which aligns with community values and expectations.

A major achievement was the establishment of a Tourism Advisory Committee (TAC), bringing together community and industry representatives to advise Council on the implementation of the TMP.

Throughout 2010, the TAC and Council’s tourism unit worked on a range of strategies and actions from the Tourism Management Plan. Information about these projects and their progress are listed in the attached annual report.
