Annual Report 2016-2017

30 October 2017

Did you know that in the last financial year, Council resealed 13.49km of roads? Or delivered 10 major road reconstruction projects? How about that 200kg of phones, batteries and lightbulbs were collected in speciality recycling stations? Between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2017, Council was awarded a special rate variation for infrastructure investment, introduced Byron Young Innovators, drafted the Rural Land Use Strategy, continued its commitment to renewable energy, opened the new Ocean Shores sports field, held an Affordable Housing Summit, initiated town and village Masterplan processes, and much much more. Overall Council achieved or substantially completed 97% of actions outlined in the 2016/17 Operational Plan.
