Byron Shire Council is the consent authority, and the Northern Region Joint Planning Panel has the function of determining the application due to the cost of construction being in excess of twenty million dollars ($20,000,000).

The application will be on exhibition for a period of five (5) weeks from 8 June 2017 to 12 July 2017.

Any submissions made in respect of the application should be made to Byron Shire Council, but will be provided to the Joint Regional Planning Panel and may be viewed by other persons with an interest in the application

The Development Application (DA) described above has been lodged with Byron Shire Council. The proposed development is Designated Development and Integrated Development.  The Development Application and the documents accompanying the application including the Environmental Impact Statement are to be exhibited from 29 June 2017 to 2 August 2017 (the public exhibition period) and may be inspected during ordinary office hours at:

The Integrated Development Approvals that are required and the relevant approval bodies for those approvals are:

  • NSW Rural Fire Service for approval under the Rural Fires Act 1997
  • NSW Office of Water for approval under the Water Management Act 2000

If you are making a submission you may be required to lodge, now or possibly in the future, a “Political Donations and Gifts Disclosure Statement”. It is your responsibility to ensure you meet your obligations to disclose reportable political donations and gifts. A failure to meet your obligations is an offence the penalty for which can include significant fines and/or imprisonment. Council strongly urges you to read the Guideline and satisfy yourself that you are complying with your disclosure obligations prior to lodging a submission. All Political Donations and Gifts Disclosure Statements will be public documents and all information contained in them will be available to the public and government agencies.
