Outside of School Hours Care

Vacation Care

Vacation Care operates during the school holidays to provide fun and care for children aged 5-12 years. Children must have commenced school (or be enrolled to attend school) in order to attend.

The service operates Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) from 8.00am – 6.00pm and is run in Brunswick Heads, Byron Bay and Mullumbimby.

Programming is based on different stages of development and we aim to provide a balanced program containing structured and unstructured activities. Excursions are compulsory, and programs are available in the weeks preceding each holiday period.

Enquiries and bookings can be made by contacting the administration coordinator (Monday and Tuesday 8.00am to 4.30pm, Wednesday 8.00am to 1.00pm).

After School Care

Byron Shire Out of School Hours Care operates After School Care and Vacation Care for primary school aged children at three venues throughout the Shire.

Qualified and experienced staff are employed in the services, which have all achieved High Quality ratings under the Quality Improvement & Accreditation System.

The services are not-for-profit, and Childcare Benefit subsidies are available to eligible parents. Please call the office to obtain current fee structures.

After School Care

After School Care operates from the close of school to 6.00pm each day. A variety of supervised play and activities are provided, along with a healthy afternoon snack.

Permanent bookings may be made weekly or fortnightly depending on work situations. Occasional or casual bookings need to be made the day before the child will be attending, and are subject to availability.
