Practical planting guide
For those people wanting to know what native plants to plant where - Byron Shire Council is working with Tweed Shire Council, Brunswick Valley Landcare and Tweed Landcare to develop the "Native Species Planting Guide for Tweed and Byron Shires".
This interactive online resource will enable users to select local native species from options that meet size, flower colour and location requirements, environmental needs (e.g. salt hardy, vegetation type), availability, etc. and produce a 'personally' selected planting list for your specific location. It will also provide links to images and further information.
There will also be an update and reprint of the “My Local Native Garden – Byron” booklet that is packed with information to help you design, plant and maintain your own native garden. For more information visit Brunswick Valley Landcare.
The online resource and booklet are due for publication around March 2017 - Watch this space!
