Bangalow Road manhole collapse

Byron Shire Council would like to reaffirm that the sewage blockage on old Bangalow Road was from a combination of construction materials including ashpalt, fencing wire and pipe fittings, plus a collapsed manhole and not a failure of the sewer pumping station.

Have your say on paid parking in Byron Bay

Council wants you to have your say on paid parking before the 25th of July. As part of our community consultation process over 2000 surveys have been posted to businesses, local residents, and visitors centres. Council has launched an online survey as well as an interactive map where you can give site specific feedback and contribute your ideas online.

Design a Sustainable Small House

Get your pencils, CAD software or crayons out and be ready to design the most sustainable small house you can imagine. Byron Shire Council and Lismore City Council are celebrating Sustainable House Day 2014 with a design competition and are calling on residents to show off their creative flair.

The competition is open to professionals, the community and young people, with cash and industry service prizes for the winning designs.

New Ocean Shores Sports Fields – Consultant Appointed

‘Play continues’ in the development of the new Ocean Shores Sports Field with Lennox Head based consultants GeoLINK being awarded the contract for the next phase of the development.

The Ocean Shores Sports Field will be located at Lot 5 Shara Boulevard and the project will focus on a sports field in the northern portion of the site with associated amenities, change facilities, car parking and lighting, in order to progress the development as fast as possible.
