Looking for creative, sustainable house designs – no experience necessary

Entries for the 2017 Sustainable House Design competition have been extended and Byron Shire Council is challenging all residents to get creative and try their hand at designing a home that is environmentally, socially and economically sustainable.

The annual design competition is a part of the Northern Rivers Sustainable House Day Expo and Awards Showcase which will be held on the 16 September 2017 at Tweed Heads.

New 5-tonne load limit on two Main Arm causeways

Residents of Main Arm Road are advised that there is a new five tonne load limit on two causeways near the Kohinur Hall at Main Arm.

“The safety of the community is our primary concern and the new load limits are necessary,” said Tony Nash, Byron Shire Council’s Managers Works.

The five-tonne limits apply to the second causeway east of the Kohinur Hall and the first causeway west of the Kohinur Hall.
