Water, Waste and Sewer Advisory Committee

Would you like to contribute to the betterment of our Shire by joining a committee?

Council is currently calling for nominations for community members to the Water, Waste and Sewer Advisory Committee. 

Candidates for membership of the Committee will need to demonstrate suitability on the basis of the following criteria:

  • an interest in the water cycle and waste cycle management needs
  • assist in recommending on strategies and plans that address water and waste management issues in a regional/ broader context
  • assist develop strategies for natural resource management / demand management for water, sewer and waste management within the Shire
  • An understanding of the role of Local Government
  • A commitment to consultative processes
  • An ability to develop and sustain contacts with key individuals and groupings in the local community
  • The ability to effectively listen to, and cooperate with community members holding similar or different points of view

All applications for nomination must be submitted on an approved nomination form. 

Nomination forms and the Committee’s Constitution are available on Council’s website http://www.byron.nsw.gov.au/expressions-of-interest or contact Council to make alternate arrangements for acquiring a nomination form.

Council Invites Expressions of Interest for Community Membership for

Senior Citizen’s Hall Byron Bay and Cook Pioneer Centre, Mullumbimby
Management Committees 

  • Do you love where you live?
  • Do you want to meet new people?
  • Do you want to make things happen locally?
  • Do you want to create new connections? 

If you answered yes, we would you like to encourage you to join a Section 355 Management Committee or Board.

Love Byron Halls is an initiative to celebrate your halls and venues as spaces to get together. We want you to help create a new history in your town or village. Research shows that community involvement in managing community facilities provides better outcomes for locals while engaging and including local people and providing an opportunity to participate in local community life.

Council is currently calling for nominations for additional members to the Senior Citizen’s Hall in Marvel St, Byron Bay and the Cook Pioneer Centre in Gordon St, Mullumbimby. The two committees above have an interest in improving activities and opportunities for the senior citizens in our community.
