Australia Day 2010 Local Citizen of the Year Awards
Australia Day will be celebrated throughout Byron Shire on Tuesday 26 January 2010. Byron Shire Council, along with community groups, is again proudly sponsoring the shire wide celebrations.
As in previous years Byron Shire Council is calling for nominations for the Australia Day Local Citizen of the Year Award. The closing date for nominations is Friday 18 December 2009.
Award categories include:
Citizen of the Year (no age limit)
Young Citizen of the Year (person aged up to 25 years as at 26/1/10)
Senior Sports Person (16 years and over)
Junior Sports Person (under 16 years)
Community Event of the Year
Volunteer of the Year
Environmental Volunteer Project of the Year
Persons may be nominated by individuals, community groups or organisations. Nomination Forms can be obtained from Council’s website at www.byron.nsw.gov.au/public-exhibition.
A full program of the Day’s activities will be published closer to Australia Day.
