POPPED- Laneway Activation

POPPED- Laneway Activation event this weekend!

This week a team of Byron Bay’s most talented street artists are transforming ‘Surf Alley’: the tired laneway in Jonson Street that has, whilst held sentiments of honouring the legends of our local surfing community, previously been used as nothing more than a pedestrian thoroughfare and hot spot for late-night anti-social behaviour.

POPPED Creative aims to provide community based and sustainable events with a focus on pop-up culture, generating opportunities for local creative industries and working towards a better Night Time Economy for Byron Bay. POPPED are one of six successful groups to be selected as part of the Byron Bay Shire Council 'Placemaking' Initiative. For more information click here

From Friday 19 May, over two nights, with the help of many generous local businesses, community groups, and individuals, they will unveil a reinvigorated space, brought to life with live art, installations, music, green walls, cool lighting, talks and ideas programs, charity auctions, bespoke sustainable furniture, local fine food and drink, and the unveiling of a new, brighter era for Byron's beloved 'Surf Alley'.
