International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) was established in 1992 by the United Nations General Assembly to promote awareness of disability issues and the abilities of people with disability. It is celebrated worldwide on 3 December each year.

Festival of Ability
This is a regional event for the Northern Rivers area.
Our aim: to showcase the abilities of our local people with disability and provide a celebration of their achievements. Fun, festive family day with ambassadors, people with disability life stories, choirs, music, demonstrations, food and information stands.
Free goodie bags will be handed out on entry and will contain some exciting giveaways, including vouchers with the major prize being a surfboard, plus lots more.
The program will run all day with performing arts, plant nursery demonstrations, and others will have their fabulous products for sale, such as sandals, soaps, bags and other items. All made by people with disability.
Food and drinks are available on site. Entry is free.
