Written Planning Advice

Council provides a duty planner service between the hours of 9am and 1pm daily to assist with enquiries relating to town planning matters and lodgement of development applications.

However applicant's requiring more detailed planning information should download and complete a Written Planning Advice Application Form. There is an application fee of $120/hour associated with this service.

Council can then provide the applicant with more detailed and researched information in respect to issues such as dwelling entitlement, historic or current development application information, etc.

The request must be clear and to the point. Within 21 days of receiving your application, the requested information will be researched and a letter of reply mailed to your address.

Please note that Byron Shire Council cannot guarantee that the requested information is available and in the instance that your search is unsuccessful, the application fee is non refundable.
