Five Year Lease - Byron Bay Tennis Courts and Shed

Byron Shire Council is seeking Expressions of Interest for the lease for a period of five years of Council owned community land and facilities known as the Byron Bay Tennis Courts and Shed located on Byron Bay Recreational Grounds, cnr Carlyle and Tennyson Streets, Byron Bay.

The site comprises four artificial grass tennis courts and a tennis shed.  The “Call for Expressions of Interest – Byron Bay Tennis Courts and Shed” is available on Council’s website at www.byron.nsw.gov.au/expressions-of-interest/

Proposed Lease of Byron Bay Tennis Courts and Shed - Part Lot 444 Section 28 DP 758207

Council proposes to lease the Byron Bay Tennis Courts and Shed - Part Lot 444 Section 28 DP 758207 - Byron Bay Recreational Grounds, Corner of Carlyle and Tennyson Streets Byron Bay for a period of five years.

In accordance with Section 47 of the Local Government Act 1993 interested parties are invited to make submissions about this proposal.

The proposed lease is on exhibition for a period of 28 days and is available at Community Access Points around the Shire and on Council’s website www.byron.nsw.gov.au/public-exhibition

Submissions should be made in writing and addressed to the General Manager, Byron Shire Council, PO Box 219 Mullumbimby 2482 or sent by email to submissions@byron.nsw.gov.au. Emailed submissions to this address only will be acknowledged.

Submissions will be made public in accordance with Schedule 1 Part 3 Clause 1(a)(vi) within Schedule 5 Part 2 of the GIPA Act 2009 as applicable including both the substance of the objection and the identity of the objector. Jonson Street, Byron Bay - Thursday 5 July 2012

Under the provisions of the Roads Act 1993, Council will (at their 28 June 2012 Ordinary meeting) consider approval of a temporary road closure that will affect access of Jonson Street, Byron Bay between Marvell Street and Bay Street during the hours of 10am and 11am on Thursday, 5 July 2012 for the holding of the annual NAIDOC celebration street walk and family day.

The on-street walk will be undertaken under traffic control and Police escort and will cause short delays during its duration. Traffic will be diverted as necessary.

Any person is entitled to make a submission with respect to the granting of these temporary changes.  Written submissions should be endorsed ‘Road Closure – 2012 NAIDOC Walk‘.
