Development of a Visitor Economy Product Audit and assistance with Destination Management Planning for Byron and Ballina Shires
Byron Shire Council is seeking expressions of interest from individuals or organisations to undertake the development of two separate visitor economy product audits, and provide some assistance with development of two separate Destination Management Plans for both Byron Shire Council and Ballina Shire Council (working in partnership).
Consultants will have a good understanding of the tourism/ visitor economy, demonstrated extensive tourism project management/ consulting experience, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated research skills.

Mullumbimby Civic Memorial Hall - Board of Management
Would you like to contribute to the betterment of our Shire by joining the board of management?
Council is currently calling for nominations for additional volunteer members to the Mullumbimby Civic Memorial Hall Board of Management.
Historically, the Mullumbimby Civic Memorial Hall symbolises the strong and independent community spirit of its people. The venue is home to many travelling music and cultural events and has a venue co-ordinator to assist with bookings. If you can spare a few hours each month, why not be part of our iconic local hall and assist Council with its management. The history of the hall and upcoming events can be found on its web page www.mullumcivic.com.
To be part of this Board of Management, applications for nomination must be submitted on an approved nomination form. Temporary Changes to Traffic - Mullum to Bruns Paddle
Public Exhibition of amendment to Byron Developer Contributions Plan 2012
At the 14 March 2013 Ordinary meeting, Council resolved to publicly exhibit the amendment to Byron Developer Contributions Plan 2012 in accordance with Clause 28 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000 for a period of 28 days.
An amendment to the Byron Developer Contributions Plan 2012 is on exhibition from 30 April 2013 to 27 May 2013 and is available for viewing at Council’s Administrative Offices Mullumbimby, and community access points
This amendment to the Byron Developer Contributions Plan 2012 is to alter the works schedules for Urban Roads Byron Bay Suffolk Park Catchment (pages A165 and A166 ) and Urban Roads Shire Wide Catchment (pages A168 and A169) to replace the Byron Bay Mini Bypass line item with the Byron Bay Bypass. This results in a reduction to the cost of works. There are consequential amendments to the summary tables on pages A2 and A3 of the plan. The remainder of the plan is unchanged.

2013/2014 Budget, Fees and Charges and Integrated Planning documents on public exhibition
Council has resolved to place the 2013/2014 Integrated Planning documents, including Draft 2013/2017 Delivery Program (including the 2013/2014 Draft Operational Plan), on exhibition for public comment for a period of 28 days from 29 April 2013 to 28 May 2013.

Development Applications on public exhibition - 21 May 2013
Council is in receipt of the following Development Application(s). Byron Shire Council is the Consent Authority. Any person may view the application(s) and the documents accompanying the application(s) at Council’s Information and Enquiry Counter, Station Street, Mullumbimby from 9.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday (public holidays excepted). Any submission needs to be received by 4.00pm on the last day of the exhibition period.
Any person may make a written submission to the General Manager in relation to any of the development applications. Where the submission is by way of an objection the submission must set out the grounds of the objection.
If you are making a submission you may be required to lodge, now or possibly in the future, a “Political Donations and Gifts Disclosure Statement”. It is your responsibility to ensure you meet your obligations to disclose reportable political donations and gifts. A failure to meet your obligations is an offence the penalty for which can include significant fines and/or imprisonment. A Guideline providing detailed information on the disclosure obligations is available at http://www.byron.nsw.gov.au/political-donations or from Council. Council strongly urges you to read the Guideline and satisfy yourself that you are complying with your disclosure obligations prior to lodging a submission. All Political Donations and Gifts Disclosure Statements will be public documents and all information contained in them will be available to the public and government agencies.

REQUEST FOR TENDER
Tenders are sought on behalf of the Byron Shire Council, from appropriately qualified Auditing/Accounting Firms to provide Auditing Services to Council. There are two Tenders available.
Tender 2013-0024 is for Internal Audit Services where the successful Tenderer will report to the Byron Shire Council Internal Audit Advisory Committee with the contract period being until 30 June 2017.
Tender 2013-0025 is for External Audit Services where the successful Tenderer will undertake the statutory external audit of Council’s annual financial statements reporting to the Internal Audit Advisory Committee and the elected Council with the contract period being until 30 June 2019.
The “Request for Tender” for both Tenders is open for a period of 21 days.
