Objectives

  1. Consider the reports of the Byron Shire Visitor Services Strategy (by The Stafford Group) and the Northern Rivers Regional Visitor Services Strategy (by Aurora Research Inc).
  2. Prioritise those aspects of the reports that are of most relevance to the Byron Shire context.
  3. Develop a draft visitor services strategy based primarily on the Byron Shire Visitor Services Strategy, with reference to the Northern Rivers Regional Visitor Services Strategy and any additional information, with due consideration of the relevant strategies from the Byron Shire Tourism Management Plan, to recommend to the Tourism Advisory Committee.
  4. Make recommendations to the Tourism Advisory Committee, and subsequently Council, on possible ways of implementing the prioritised aspects of the reports.
  5. Prepare a final report for consideration at the Tourism Advisory Committee meeting on 16 August 2012.
