Objectives

The purpose of the Library (Stage 2) Project Reference Group is to recommend to Council on the management of the new library in relation to:

  1. public artwork for the building
  2. development of resources and research opportunities for the library, including the consideration of a Rainbow Archive or collaboration with the Aquarius Archive
  3. program of events for the Exhibition Space and consideration of key community events, as well as loan exhibitions and opportunities for guest curators including student placements
  4. meeting room and exhibition space bookings
  5. consultation with the Arakwal regarding the use and research opportunities for the dedicated space
  6. investigation of potential grants to fulfil art and research opportunities
  7. investigating the potential for donations from the community utilising the Deductible Gift Recipient status obtained for the library
  8. assessing the staffing and management needs and consideration of a Section 355 Committee
  9. reviewing the maintenance plan and management of the external landscape areas
  10. investigating the possibility of relocating the green frog locomotive to the premises.
