In December 2016 Pay Parking was introduced on Marine Parade in Wategos. A four hour time limit will apply to streets in Wategos. If you have a current Byron Shire Council Pay Parking E-permit Exemption, you can park for no additional cost in Marine Parade. If you don’t have an E-permit, the cost will be $4 per hour.  If you require more time when your four hours has expired, you need to move your vehicle to another space. Please check the signs before leaving your vehicle.

Byron Shire locals and ratepayers can purchase a parking E-permit exemption. Businesses and workers within the Pay Parking area can also purchase an E-permit exemption.  Click on the links above to apply.

If you have a Pay Parking E-permit exemption all you need to do is park and walk away - no more to pay.  Staying beyond the time limit can result in a penalty.

For E-permit holders, it’s a paperless system and there is no need to print a ticket and display in your car.

If you don’t have an E-permit, each time you park you will need to enter your licence plate number into the meter, choose the duration of your stay, pay the amount displayed. There is no need to print a ticket.

Motorcycles (as with any registered vehicle) will also need to purchase an E-permit exemption or pay at the meter.
