Byron data dashboard

Byron Shire Council has subscribed to a suite of externally developed data products - Economic Profile, Community Profile and Social Atlas, to assist our community, community groups, business leaders and investors to be more informed about the Byron Shire with decision making data.

The profiles are formatted to present the data in simple, clear tables and charts with concise factual commentary. Each Profile source is maintained with the latest information available so you can be sure you are using the most up to date statistics.

Community Profile provides demographic analysis of time series data based on results from the 2011, 2006, 2001, 1996 and 1991 Census optimising information and the ability to compare with other LGA‘s, State and National averages.   Social Atlas includes key socio-demographic characteristic for the Byron Shire through a series of interactive thematic maps prepared using census collector districts providing the finest level of detail to help  the spatial patterns and trends.     Economic profile draws on a variety of economic data sources to profile the characteristics of the local economy, how it compares to other areas and how it is changing.  It enables users to accurately describe the economy and  explore linkages that can be used to develop future strategies.

In addition to the above tools, Economic Profile also provides an input-output modelling tool  and event impact tool to depict the inter-industry relationships in the economy and show the relative economic value of investment.
